A WORTHY CAUSE

Group needs cash to ship supplies

A Mountain View parents’ group is sending basic supplies for babies who have survived Hurricane Katrina and is seeking more donations.

In the past two weeks, Las Madres, a non-profit organization, has sent jars of baby food, bottles and bags of new and used clothing worth an estimated $4,600.

All items were donated by families and subsequently distributed through the Women’s Hope Center in Denham Springs, LA.

Las Madres is seeking donations to cover the shipping costs of several more boxes of formula and diapers. It is no longer accepting toys or clothing. People wishing to contribute to the effort can write a check to Las Madres and send it to its treasurer:

Melissa Stueve, Playgroup Treasurer
LM Hurricane Relief
2565 Park Blvd #0-201
Palo Alto, CA 94306

To drop off items and cash for shipping or make arrangements to pay for shipping, please contact Bridget Correia at bridget_lasmadres@hotmail.com.
